The government and the market drive demand for automotive radars: ADAS to become mandatory for new vehicles.
There are two general types of sensors: front radars and corner radars. Radars that are placed under the front grill are called front radars. They gather information for 200-300 meters towards the direction of movement and are responsible for the adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, emergency braking.
Corner radars are placed around the vehicle perimeter, covering up to 360 degrees for cocoon radar cases. With a range of up to 150-200m, they are used for collision avoidance, emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, highway or traffic jam autopilots, etc.
We are developing the corner radar that fits this approach. The radar utilizes available components from the market and gains advantages through custom radar construction and low-level radar software.
